Today kicks off "Movember," where men across the nation plan to grow mustaches to raise money and support mens' cancer initiatives. The staff at the Bedford are growing flavor savers for the cause and you can both join their team and donate here. It all climaxes with a " 'Stache Bash" at the Bedford Nov. 28.

Book Release Party

A reminder of tomorrow's book release party for Soup and Bread's cookbook tomorrow at Hideout. This is going to be some fun.

Shopping

Get your holiday shopping off to an early start Friday at the Swedish American Museum (5211 N. Clark St.). The museum is hosting a pre-Christmas preview and sale in its Kerstin Andersson Store from 4 - 9 p.m. and, in addition to specially priced items (and 20 percent discounts for Museum members), shoppers and browsers will be treated to traditional pepparkakor cookies and warming sips of glogg.

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
