Track that Truck! Sweet, Saucy Lillie's Q Meat Mobile

No longer do BBQ fans have to trek to Bucktown and wait in line for what was named Food & Wine’s “Best New Barbeque in the Country.” The folks of Lillie’s Q have joined the ranks of Chicago's food truck scene.

Launched just a few short weeks ago, the Lille’s Q Meat Mobile (LQMM) maintains a simple operation: a cash-only, build-your-own meat, bun and side on-the-go lunch. While seemingly simple in construction, each part of the meal contains layers of time and care. Meats are slow smoked at their Bucktown brick-and-mortar location and served with a flaky and buttery brioche bun with a side selection of their tart and crunchy mustard based slaw, or sweetly stewed baked beans.

The highlight of the meal comes in ordering your sauce. From sweet and creamy to spicy and fiery, LQMM has options to suit every BBQ fan's personal preference. The Ivory sauce appeals to those who prefer a mildly sweet palette, made of a unique blend of mayo, apple cider, vinegar, lime juice and spices, where the Carolina Dirt mixes flavors of paprika, onion, chili and mustard for that classically Carolina flavor. Other popular choices are the smoky and hot smoky sauces, both featuring liquid smoke to make for a spicy and smoky sauce.

While tracking trucks can be a somewhat difficult balance of continuously checking various Facebook and Twitter (there’s an app for that), LQMM is making getting some of their saucy, smoked Q an easier feat, parked at Wabash and Van Buren every Tuesday and Thursday.

Track that Truck! @LQMeatMobile or visiting 401 S. Wabash on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
