The Archdiocese of Chicago settled another sex abuse case related to defrocked priest Daniel McCormack yesterday.

McCormack pleaded guilty in 2007 to molesting five boys while at St. Agatha Parish on the West side. The Archdiocese had previously settled with the families of two of McCormack's victims. A separate lawsuit filed in August contends the Archdiocese knew McCormack was sexually abusing young boys as far back as 1992, when he was a seminary student.

Attorney William Martin said the boy's family received $3.2 million, which should be enough for him to continue weekly therapy sessions and, eventually, attending college and starting his own business. McCormack remains at a state mental health facility. He was denied parole last year after the Cook County State's Attorney and the Illinois Attorney General petitioned the court to have him committed under the Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act, arguing he still remained a threat.
