Pencil This In: A Night Of Food Justice And Urban Farming At Growing Power Chicago
By Staff in Food on Jan 12, 2012 6:20PM
We wrote about the networking event A Night of Food Justice and Urban Farming" last week. Tickets are still available for the event tomorrow night at Growing Power Chicago's Bridgeport headquarters. A $20 suggested donation gets you drinks, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, a tour of Growing Power Chicago's Bridgeport farm and music by local band Zamin. All proceeds from the event are supporting the Bold Food Fellows, a group traveling to Kenya and Uganda this spring for an international exchange on urban and peri-urban agriculture. The fellows are also collecting books on public health, environmental or agricultural issues for their upcoming trip and every little bit helps. (3336 S. Iron St., 6-9 p.m. tomorrow)
If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
