An eighth teen has been arrested last night and charged for the beating and robbery of a 17-year-old that was caught on video and uploaded to YouTube. He is a brother of one of the other seven teens charged who face charges.

Seven of the teens appeared in juvenile court today, and a judge placed them all on electronic monitoring. They are confined to their homes and forbidden from using their cell phones.

The hearing revealed a few more details of the case than we'd heard before, saying the teens planned the attack earlier at a restaurant. The Tribune writes:

Prosecutors said a 15-year-old girl lured the 17-year-old boy into an alley at about 4 p.m. on Jan. 15 near 28th Place and South Princeton Avenue, where Palomino and the other the other boys were waiting.

The group then beat the teen and stole his wallet with $180 and his Nike shoes, according to prosecutors.

One of the eight teens will be charged as an adult, 17-year-old Raymond Palomino, whose father turned him in. Palomino is being held on $100,000 bail, which his father now thinks is a bit too harsh, but says, "I don't regret turning him in … now he has to suffer the consequences."
