Ravinia Tickets Now On Sale

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Apr 26, 2012 3:00PM

Tickets to Ravinia's 2012 season went on sale at 8 a.m. Sam went over the highlights of the lineup last month and right now the online wait for tickets is at least a half-hour, so your best bet, if you're patient, is to wait until after noon to try and score tickets for the shows you want.

Ravinia is also making it easier for you to meet up with friends at the festival this year, thanks to a new smartphone app. Anne Holub at Gapers Block writes that the new app, available for both iPhone and Android allows users to view the schedule, buy tickets and has a "share your experience" tab that allows users to share the shows they want to see with friends via Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and even LinkedIn.

The "share your experience" tab was also created with finding your friends at the festival in mind, given Ravinia's lack of landmarks. The app's developer, Aqueduct Development LLC, won Lollapalooza's Hacklolla contest last year and created an unofficial app for North Coast Music Festival.
