Last weekend, 799 breweries from 54 countries sent their best beers to a panel of world-class judges in San Diego for the ninth-annual World Beer Cup. When the foam settled, five medals made the groggy flight back to Chicagoland.
Revolution Brewing led the pack with gold medals for Cross of Gold in the English-Style Summer Ale category, and for Rise, an American stout.
Haymarket Pub & Brewery earned a gold for Last Chance in the American-Belgo-Style Ale category.
Goose Island won silver for King Henry, a bourbon-barrel-aged English barleywine.
Rounding out the Chicagoland awards, Flossmoor Station's Intercontinental Pale Ale took home a bronze.
These breweries and more will put their best on display when Chicago Craft Beer Week kicks off next Thursday. Check back for our guide to can't-miss CCBW events.
