Now that homebrewing is so ubiquitous that even BW3 took a jab at homebrewers in a recent ad, it makes sense that brewing communities should have a place to come together to share tips, recipes, and that hottest of Chicago commodities, space.

In comes C.H.A.O.S. (Chicago Homebrew Alchemists of Suds) Brew Club. For a fee, members may use the shared warehouse space at Ogden and Grand to do any number of tasks to take their home brewing to a whole new level. The space boasts a temperature controlled fermentation room, gas stoves and floor burners, kettles, mash paddles, spoons, a malt mill, mash tuns, immersion chillers, and a myriad of other brewing accessories. They even boast space for a barrel-aging program, and believe they may be the first brew club in the country to dedicate space to this technique. All fancy equipment aside, C.H.A.O.S. is dedicated to the education of all things beer.

This Saturday, the folks of C.H.A.O.S. invite you to check out their space. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on September 15, you can meet C.H.A.O.S. members and founders, learn a little more about brewing and their mission, and maybe have a beer or two at their monthly open house.

Can't make it? Plan ahead for next month: the open houses happen every 3rd Saturday.

C.H.A.O.S. Brew Club is located at 1329 W. Grand Ave., the entrance is in the alley at the rear of the building. Visit their web site here, but know that (free!) registration is required upon viewing.
