Once upon a time, Pete Wentz had a band called Arma Angelus, and since the North Shore boys of Fall Out Boy pleasantly surprised us with a new tune, it's a good time to look back at their early days. The hardcore straight-edge band Arma Angelus was formed in 1998, and one of the original members was Tim McIlrath, who left in 1999 to start Rise Against. Around 2001 future Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman started playing with the group, and in 2002, Arma Angelus played their last show, featuring future Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump on the drums. Yes, Stump's soaring vocals were nearly trapped behind a drumset. Arma Angelus last performed at this 2002 birthday party, and it was a hot, sloppy mess. Watch it here in its full 22-minute glory.
