Having Trouble Keeping Track Of All The New Local Breweries?

The explosion of local breweries and brewpubs is a wonderful thing. Every time we open our RSS reader, there's a story about a new beer, a new brewery, a new collaboration or a new bar. It is truly a great time to be a beer lover.

But we have to admit, we're having a bit of a tough time keeping track of it all. We probably should be tracking our tasting notes in a spreadsheet (and we keep meaning to use one of the many beer and wine apps to stay on top of it) but somehow, after the second beer, taking notes falls to the bottom of our agenda.

No worries - The Local Beet is on it. They posted an insanely comprehensive list of new local breweries, including those that opened in 2012 and those that are still planning to open. Remember that Kickstarter you gave to and forgot about? It's there. Or that article you sent around to all your friends about the new brewpub that never opened? Check this list for updates.

Thankfully, the list isn't overly gushy — if the new brewpub's opening date is too "optimistic" or the beer is "unremarkable," you'll know. It's worth printing out and putting on your fridge, if you're the sort who does that kind of thing.

If this explosion keeps up, we'll easily be able to do another local beer bracket next year with all new beers — and with a ton of all-new brewers.
