The A.V. Club announced the lineup for this year’s A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party a few moments ago and it’s a solid list of popular acts that could also serve as a greatest hits package, albeit one loaded with amazing artists.

Young the Giant, Neko Case and Mavis Staples (playing her second Block Party in three years) top the bill. The other acts are The Hold Steady, Superchunk, The Walkmen, Trampled By Turtles, The Both (Aimee Mann and Ted Leo), Nude Beach, Jon Langford, Girl Group Chicago, and Vision Celestial Guitarkestra.

See what we mean? It’s another lineup perfectly tailored for both the young ‘uns and the graying Hideout regulars. Seriously: No Block Party lineup would be complete without Jon Langford on the bill. We're stoked that Case and Staples are making appearances as both have new albums in the works. (Staples's new LP has a cover of Funkadelic's "Can You Get To That" that is so hers now George Clinton should be paying her royalties.)

Two day passes are already on sale; get them while you can. Hopefully other logistics issues like bathrooms and beer vendors will be rectified this year, as well.
