Scottie Pippen Sued By Autograph Seeker Over Alleged Assault

Scottie Pippen was slapped with a $4 million lawsuit by the autograph seeker who claimed the Chicago Bulls Hall of Famer assaulted him outside a tony Malibu restaurant last month.

Camran Shafighi, 49, claimed he merely wanted Pippen’s autograph for his girlfriend’s 12-year-old son when Pippen allegedly spit at him and punched the man outside Nobu Malibu. Shafigi suffered broken teeth, a swollen mouth and injuries to his head and back in the incident. He’s seeking $4 million. "At no time did or could Mr. Shafighi physically provoke or fight back, as he was knocked unconscious with the first blow," the lawsuit says.

Malibu County Sheriff’s officials are still investigating the incident. They say that Shafigi took photographs of Pippen dining with friends inside the restaurant and later outside in Nobu’s parking lot. Pippen was questioned in the assault, but not arrested, and cooperated with authorities in their investigation. According to USA Today, sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said several eyewitness accounts indicated Shafigi was intoxicated during the incident.
