We pretty much fell in love with Vamos the first time we saw them at Township back in January. The local punk rock trio has a potent and turbulent energy both live and in their recorded material. At that time they had just dropped their single “Stones,” and while it’s not new anymore, the band is breathing new life into the track with the release of a video.

The video was created in collaboration with local cinematographer Brain Killer (his real name is Brian Keller), who won Chicago Reader’s Best Filmmaker title in 2013. So they’re going all out for the release and throwing a party at the Empty Bottle this Sunday during brunch. Before premiering the video they’ll be showing some other videos of the slasher and gore variety, such as the 1987 comedy horror Street Trash. There will also be DJ sets by Zipperhead, Rabble Rabble and White Mystery throughout the afternoon.

Vamos won’t be performing during this event, but if you want to catch the band live check them out when they play Township October 24.

Vamos releases “Stones” Sunday October 3 at the Empty Bottle (1035 N Western) 12:30 p.m. 21+
