Pencil This In: White Mystery, Archie Powell & The Exports At Double Door
By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 30, 2013 8:00PM
Archie Powell & The Exports prepare for tonight's show at Double Door.
Headlining is White Mystery, a band we were on the fence about in the past but whose excellent last album and consistently fun live shows have converted us into genuine fans.
Archie Powell & The Exports have long been near the top of our "why aren't these guys hugely famous already list" because their straightforward good-times working man rock and/or roll is the sort of music anything with a heartbeat is going to find hard to resist. They've recently wrapped laying tracks down for their next album, so there should be a few new songs sneaking into tonight's set.
Mutts are undertaking the mission of proving that their combination of drums and piano-driven tunes is anything but a gimmick.
Daniel Wade used to play guitar in Treaty Of Paris but has now taken his rockin' pop hooks down the road of the solo career and has built up a nice local buzz around his shows recently.
Take all four acts together and put them on one stage and you've got a good reason to shake yourself out of that lingering food coma and get out tonight.
The show is tonight, November 30, at Double Door, 1572, N Milwaukee, 8 p.m., tickets are $3 with RSVP, 21+
