Now that he's done the weather on local Chicago television, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy may as well give the national stage a try. According to Entertainment Weekly, Tweedy is doing just that by guesting on an upcoming episode of "Parks and Recreation." Michael Schur, who's the executive producer of the show, told EW that Tweedy will play the former singer of a group called Land Ho! (The Sufjan Stevens-esque exclamation point is part of the band's name.)
Schur tells EW that the plot of Tweedy's episode revolves around a Land Ho! reunion--or, at least the attempt at one:
“Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Andy (Chris Pratt) are trying to convince him to reunite for the big Unity Concert they are organizing to solidify the merger of Pawnee and Eagleton.” Tweedy’s character is not gung-ho on a Land Ho! show, though, as the band suffered an ugly breakup.
Will the power of music conquer all? Will Mouserat and Land Ho! cover "Get Lucky?" Wait until early spring to find out. In the meantime, here's that Tweedy weather segment:
