Runaway bride has a new meaning for this couple. They took a breather in the middle of the Chicago Marathon last weekend to get married before speeding off to complete the race.

The pair, Stephanie Reinhart and Mark Jockel, were decked out in the most sensible gear—running shoes, a white athletic shirt for the bride and a tuxedo T-shirt for the groom—as they paused under a makeshift canopy around Mile 8 in Lakeview to say their vows. They told reporters their wedding on the fly was a compromise between Reinhard, who wanted a small wedding, and Jockel, who wanted a bigger one.

"My colleague suggested that we get married during the marathon, and it was perfect: I get a short and sweet ceremony, and Mark gets several thousand guests,” Reinhart told reporters.
