Are you a fan of Wicker Park's Furious Spoon Ramen Shop? Are you excited about the new Logan Square location? If so, you might want to donate to their Kickstarter campaign to fund the purchase of a noodle maker for the new shop.
The new noodle maker is being imported from Japan and "will allow Chef Shin Thompson to produce larger quantities of house-made noodles and meet the demand the team expects in the larger location," the restaurant announced in a statement.
As of late Friday morning, 19 backers have donated $1,145 toward the $25,000 goal.
"The new noodle machine will allow us to expand and meet demands without sacrificing quality," partner Anshul Mangal said in a statement.
The Logan Square location is set to open early this year at 2410 N. Milwaukee Ave. and will be a bit larger and the original Wicker Park restaurant, featuring a full bar, expanded late night menu and an outdoor patio. It will be able to fit 60 guests indoors and 80 guests on the outdoor patio.
"We'll be able to accommodate more customers and offer a social, late-night bar atmosphere," Thompson said in the statement.
The new spot will also have a different liquor selection than the Wicker Park location which is limited to beer/sake options.
"You won't find a bunch of craft beers or expensive cocktails. Think Hamm's, PBR, Schiltz, Japanese beer and $8 cocktails," Mangal said in the statement.
