Time Lapse Video Reminds Us Why We Suffer Through Chicago Winters

This new time lapse video is just what we needed to remember that Chicago's sub-zero weather won't last long—and it will take a lot more than that to overshadow our reasons for loving it here.
The video, shared last week by Youtube user PrimoMedia, features six months of footage of Chicago and some surrounding areas, as summer turned into fall, boating season came and went, and the new Riverwalk became a beautiful downtown attraction.
The video offers a sped-up, birds-eye view of hot air balloons taking flight, the bridges over the Chicago river going up, Navy Pier before its iconic ferris wheel was taken down last year, and lots of signs of the seasons changing over Lake Michigan.
