One man is dead and another in stable condition, the Tribune reports, after the two were pulled from Lake Michigan at 31st Street Beach on the South Side Monday night. Authorities were called to the beach around 8 p.m. Monday where they rescued an unresponsive 32-year-old man and another man from the water.
Both men were taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center where the 32-year-old was pronounced dead.
Chicago authorities have rescued and recovered a number of people and bodies from Lake Michigan in recent months. As of late June, at least 10 bodies had been pulled from the water this year.
