As per usual in the summer months, Chicago this weekend will be hopping. (Major to-dos include the annual Pitchfork Music Festival and Windy City Smokeout.)

To help out with your travel plans, the city's bike-share program is offering free rides on Saturday, July 16 or Sunday, July 17. Interested riders can go here to grab a free code. Once you receive your download digits, you can redeem them at any Divvy station kiosk. When there, select "24-Hour Access Pass," then swipe your credit card and enter the code as prompted.

Riders are granted unlimited trips during that timeframe, but trips can't be longer than half an hour. Rides that go over that limit are subject to late fees. Divvy also temporarily charges your credit card $1 when you get your free day pass, but they refund it once your pass expires. Not bad!

This is just one of the many ways Divvy is helping out this summer. They're also offering free bike-valet services throughout the city, and expanded service on the city's West and South sides, as well as the suburbs.
