As we shouted out earlier this month, items from the U.S. Pizza Museum are on display at the storefront gallery of The Whistler from July 18 to Sept. 18. To celebrate, the bar is hosting a pretty amazing-sounding opening party on Wednesday, July 20.

The reception, which kicks off at 6 p.m, will feature free pizza from Father & Son Restaurant while supplies last. Local pizza-evangelist rapper Showyousuck will perform. (He was born to, really. Who better to appear than a guy with four-part mixtape series called One Man Pizza Party?) DJ Charlie Coffeen, of the Sidewalk Chalk, will follow.

The exhibition includes pizza-themed video games and vinyl albums, ShowBiz Pizza Place memorabilia and “retired pizzeria mascots.”

So, all in all, roughly 200 times better than the warm-PBR-filled apartment-gallery exhibition your artist buddy will drag you to in the fall.
