We were caught slightly unawares this past June when Navy Pier unveiled an outdoor ice skating rink in the dog days of summer. But seasonal sports traditionalists will be happy to learn that Navy Pier on Tuesday announced in a press release that the rink will remain open into the colder months, through Oct. 31, specifically.

The rink, which is presented with in partnership with the Blackhawks, will also get a splashy new on-ice logo from the team. And the site will also host viewing parties for the World Cup of Hockey, the who-the-hell-needs-the-IOC international tournament being brought back by the NHL ahead of this year’s regular season.

The Chicago Blackhawks Skate by the Lake Ice Rink, as it’s known, is open daily from noon until 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 with skate rental, $10 if you bring your own blades.
