A New York-based graphic designer who looks disturbingly similar to the walking nightmare for women's reproductive health in America known as Vice President-elect Mike Pence has taken his look-alike status to the streets to collect Planned Parenthood donations on behalf of the former Indiana governor.

Glen Pannell hit Time Square last weekend in a suit with a patriotic red and blue tie, and blue short shorts instead of pants. He collected $171.21 for Planned Parenthood in a few hours, he announced through his perfectly-named Twitter account, Mike Hot-Pence. Planned Parenthood has already received thousands of dollars in donations in Mike Pence's name since the surprise Trump-Pence upset in the presidential election last month. The following day, Fake Mike Pence said he raised $133.59 for the Natural Resources Defense Council while standing in Time Square and Union Square.

We see this stunt as the perfect opportunity to point out again that Mike Pence's ascendance to the White House is a patently terrible thing. And this goes way beyond being Chicagoans sworn at birth to rag on Indiana.

As governor of Indiana, Pence was responsible for the civil rights-damaging Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which allowed businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ patrons, and a policy that, as we wrote earlier this year, "restricts abortion providers and creepily requires women to have their aborted fetuses buried or cremated." Why. Indiana can also credit Pence's policies with helping spread a recent HIV outbreak in the state, and, of course, he remains unconvinced that global warming is very much A Thing.
