The woman who launched an infamous, racist, pro-Trump tirade at African-American clerks at a Michaels store in Lakeview last month was reportedly assaulted at her former Wrigleyville apartment last week.
Ramiz Bajwa, 29, was charged with one count of misdemeanor battery after he allegedly pushed a 29-year-old woman with his hands around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 “as they were both entering a building” on West Cornelia Avenue, police told Chicagoist. The woman was not injured during the incident, according to police. The blog Crime In Wrigleyville + Boystown identified the woman as the same person whose racist tirade was caught on a viral video.
The blog, which sometimes gets information from anonymous police sources, also reports that court documents show Bajwa allegedly called the woman “a racist bitch ass whore” after he entered the apartment. Police do not typically publicize details about a crime victim beyond the person's gender and age.
Video of the woman's racially charged, pro-Trump rant in November quickly went viral, racking up over 4 millions views. The bystander who filmed the whole horrible ordeal, Jessie Grady, then started a GoFundMe "to do something to try to make it up to the employee who was the main target of this racist attack." The campaign collected over $30,000 on a $400 goal. The victim of the harangue said she planned to use the money to help support her family.
Another video surfaced shortly after the Michaels clip that appeared to show the same woman going on a homophobic rant at a Boystown Peet's Coffee in July.
