Cozy little West Town pie shop Hoosier Mama Pie Company (1618 W. Chicago Ave.) has garnered some big-time national acclaim since opening in 2009. But its digs—essentially three small tables and a counter—have remained inversely small even as its reputation (and lines) has blossomed. But that’s about to change.

Hoosier Mama’s long-awaited expansion is finally set to debut, and co-owner Paula Haney told Chicagoist that it could come as soon as this weekend. As first reported by Eater Chicago, assuming city inspections go as planned, the pie shop’s added space—swanky new coffee bar included—could arrive as early as Saturday.

With the expansion, you can expect to find a handful of savory pie options available daily, more cookie options (always a good thing), and of course, coffee and espresso, with a seasonal menu courtesy of a Bow Truss vet. (Haney noted that espresso service likely won't start before Tuesday.) As for expanded seating, there will now be counter spaces available plus two more window booths. Which should be a good place to gorge oneself on Malort pie, should Hoosier Mama ever tempt us again.
