Well, that didn't take long. It seems the newly acquired Blackhawk Marian Hossa has a shoulder injury he sustained in this year's playoffs that he's rehabbing. Hossa, who signed a 12-year, $62.8 million deal three weeks ago, had informed the 'Hawks of the injury before the signing according to reports. According to the Tribune, "The extent of the injury and whether Hossa will have to undergo surgery to repair it are not yet known."

Extra, Extra

The Blackhawks knew? Or did just Dale Tallon know? Another reason for his re-assignment?
You have got to be f*cking kidding me!
Well, at least we didn't pay much for him. [/sarcasm]
Wings fan here,
Knowing that the Wings were bumping up against the salary cap after the Finals, I was almost certain that we'd see the Blackhawks in the Finals in 2010. Until they signed Hossa.
I think he'll keep doing what he did for Pittsburgh and Detroit; scoring the easy goals and being useless in a pinch. You guys will let him go in about four years, he's more cursed than a goat could ever be.
Good luck!
Hossa is making $7.9M a year until the 2016/17 season, where his salary drops to $4M, and continues to decline. I don't see any team picking him up for that amount. 'Hawks hurt their chances of keeping both Kane and Toews by signing such a large and long-term contract.
Did the same stupid thing with Campbell and look how he is turning out.
