UPDATE: Keith Cozart Headed To Rehab

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 8, 2013 4:55PM

Who is Keith Cozart you ask? You probably know him better under his celebrity moniker, Chief Keef. The 18 year old rapper from Chicago has had a slew of legal problems, many exacerbated by his rise to fame.

The Sun-Times reports that Judge Earl Hoffenberg sentenced Keef—who plead guilty to failing a drug test while on probation—to 90 days in Haymarket Center, a local rehabilitation facility. Keef's response?

Look, we don't think Keef is an addict, but we are pleased to see the justice system is perhaps trying to help the young entertainer instead of merely throwing him into a jail cell. Maybe rehab will give Keef some time to reflect, avoid negative influences and move on.

UPDATE: So much for our hope that a local treatment center might re-ground Keef. The Chicago Tribune has just reported that Hoffenberg has approved Keef transferring out of state to attend "one of the Promises Treatment Centers a high-cost, for-profit treatment program that has housed celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears."

Great. We're sure that'll help. It worked so well for Lohan and Spears!
